Asaba, Dec. 4, 2025 — Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has completed construction of the 20.95-kilometre Trans-Warri–Ode-Itsekiri Road with 15 bridges, bringing to an end a 19-year wait since the project was first awarded.
The landmark infrastructure, widely hailed as a major boost to connectivity and economic activities in riverine communities, is being described as a significant milestone for the Itsekiri nation and a testament to the governor’s commitment to inclusive development.
Stakeholders commended Governor Oborevwori’s leadership and people-centred approach, noting that the project’s completion reflects his administration’s resolve to deliver long-delayed infrastructure across the state.
With the road and bridges now fully delivered, the state government said preparations are underway for the formal commissioning of the project, scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.
The development is expected to ease transportation, improve access to markets and social services, and further integrate affected communities into the state’s economic lifeline.
Observers say the project underscores a renewed focus on equitable distribution of infrastructure and responsible governance under the Oborevwori administration
