The Director-General of Mimikay Political Movement, Hon. Oghenekaro Akpososo, accompanied the Grand Patron of the movement, Hon. Onoriode Agofure, the Distinguished Commissioner for Transport, Delta State, to his hometown in Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government Area, to witness and support a significant constituency empowerment initiative organised by the three councillors representing the area.
The empowerment programme, which attracted attention from constituents and community stakeholders, featured cash support totalling ₦30 million for 600 beneficiaries, representing a practical intervention aimed at supporting beneficiaries and addressing some of their immediate financial needs.
Hon. Akpososo's presence alongside the Commissioner underscored his participation in the programme and his support for initiatives focused on community development and the welfare of the people.
The initiative also highlighted the role of grassroots representatives in connecting with their constituents and providing interventions that can help individuals and families meet pressing needs. Through financial assistance of this nature, beneficiaries may have opportunities to address personal challenges, support small-scale businesses, and improve their economic circumstances.
The visit further provided an opportunity for the Mimikay Political Movement leadership to witness the programme and engage with the community, reinforcing the importance of collaboration among political leaders, elected representatives, and grassroots stakeholders in advancing local development.
For Hon. Oghenekaro Akpososo, accompanying the movement's Grand Patron to the event reflected his participation in activities centred on community engagement and constituency welfare.
As community leaders and representatives continue to engage with the people, initiatives of this nature provide opportunities to strengthen relationships between public officeholders and the communities they serve.
