AFIESERE WOMEN MOBILISE FOR STRATEGIC ENGAGEMENT IN WARD 3/7 AS MIMIKAY POLITICAL MOVEMENT CONVENES UNIT-TO-UNIT SENSITISATION MEETING.
In a move to strengthen grassroots political engagement and community participation, Afiesere women in Ward 3/7, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, held a sensitisation and strategy meeting yesterday at Afiesere Townhall with the Convener and Director General of Mimikay Political Movement, Hon. Oghenekaro Akpososo (Mimikay).
The meeting focused on grassroots mobilisation, unit-to-unit engagement, and discussions surrounding the forthcoming elections.
The women used the occasion to express their support for the APC 5/5 campaign, highlighting the importance of political participation and coordination at the ward and community levels.
The campaign's 5/5 representation covers the following political offices and candidates:
PRESIDENTIAL: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
GOVERNORSHIP: Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State.
SENATORIAL: Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District.
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES: Rep. Pst. Ejiroghene Waive, representing Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency.
DELTA STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY:
Hon. Matthew Omonade, representing Ughelli North Constituency I.
Hon. Joseph Okoro, representing Ughelli North Constituency II.
The engagement provided an opportunity for the women and political stakeholders to discuss strategies for reaching voters across the various units, strengthening communication, and encouraging eligible residents to participate actively in the democratic process.
Speaking through the spirit of grassroots engagement, the gathering underscored the role women play in community mobilisation, political awareness, and electoral participation.
Their involvement reflects the importance of including women in conversations that shape the political future of their communities.
