Asaba, Delta State — Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has been commended for what supporters describe as transformative leadership and accelerated development across Delta State since assuming office.
In a statement issued in Asaba, Alhaji Auwal Tukur, Chairman of the Delta Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, praised the governor’s rise from humble beginnings to the highest office in the state, describing his leadership journey as one marked by resilience, dedication, and commitment to public service.
Oborevwori, who previously served as Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, has, according to the statement, demonstrated calmness, firmness, and prudence in managing the state’s resources. Supporters say his administration has prioritized people-centred governance while maintaining fiscal discipline.
Within two years in office, the governor’s administration has recorded the completion and commissioning of several major infrastructure projects. These include the DSC Flyover, PTI Flyover, Enerhen Junction Flyover, Otovwodo Flyover, Uromi Junction Flyover, the Ode-Itsekiri Road and Bridges, the Ogulaha Bridge, the Asaba Waterfront Roads, the Summit Road expansion with modern drainage systems, and the rehabilitation of Nnebisi Road, among others.
Beyond road infrastructure, the government has reportedly upgraded public hospitals with modern MRI and dialysis machines and improved facilities in schools across the state. The administration has also intensified efforts in human capital development and community-focused initiatives aimed at bringing governance closer to the people.
The governor has equally been credited with promoting unity among Delta State’s diverse ethnic nationalities. Observers note that his inclusive approach has fostered peaceful coexistence among various groups residing in the state, while positioning Delta as a growing hub for sporting and cultural festivals.
Supporters further highlight the administration’s continued sponsorship of Christian and Muslim pilgrimages, describing it as a demonstration of commitment to religious harmony and prayers for the state’s peace and progress.
As political activities gradually build toward the future, stakeholders aligned with the governor have reaffirmed their support for his leadership, expressing confidence in the continuity of his development agenda.
Alhaji Tukur stated that leaders who prioritize service and empathy over personal interest deserve sustained backing and prayers, adding that many Deltans remain optimistic about the state’s trajectory under Governor Oborevwori’s stewardship.
Long Live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Long Live Delta State.
