ASABA — The Delta State Commissioner for Lands, Surveys and Urban Development, Chief Goodnews Emamusi Obiodeh, has disclosed that the ministry’s ongoing automation and digitalisation programme is projected to triple its revenue generation when fully implemented.
Obiodeh stated this while leading the management team of the ministry to defend its proposed 2026 budget before the Delta State House of Assembly Committee on Lands, Surveys and Urban Development.
He revealed that the ministry had already achieved 92 per cent of its approved revenue target for 2025, noting that the feat was made possible through strengthened internal control systems, enhanced transparency, and improved service delivery.
According to him, the ministry deliberately channelled a significant portion of its capital budget toward its most critical areas of need to ensure the effective discharge of its statutory responsibilities to the state and the public.
The Commissioner expressed confidence that with the full deployment of modern digital systems, revenue leakages would be eliminated and operations would become faster, more accountable and citizen-friendly.
Members of the House Committee commended the ministry’s performance and initiatives, urging it to sustain the momentum and ensure that the planned reforms translate into better outcomes for the people of Delta State.
