Oborevwori Approves Automatic Scholarships for Best Graduating Students in Delta Universities

Asaba — Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved automatic scholarship awards for the best graduating students in the state’s four universities, in a move aimed at promoting academic excellence and youth development.

The announcement was made by the Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board, with its Executive Secretary, Dr. Godfrey Enita, describing the decision as part of the governor’s M.O.R.E. Agenda, which prioritizes human capital development through education.

Under the policy, the Best Graduating Student from each academic session in Delta State University, Abraka; Southern Delta University, Ozoro; University of Delta, Agbor; and Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba, will automatically qualify for the scholarship.

Dr. Enita said each beneficiary will receive full sponsorship to pursue Master’s and Ph.D. programmes in recognized Nigerian universities, subject to the completion of the required documentation and standard scholarship procedures.

He added that the initiative is designed to produce highly skilled graduates who can contribute meaningfully to the state’s socio-economic development.

According to the Board, the policy is expected to encourage healthy academic competition among undergraduates and position Delta State as a leading centre for educational advancement in Nigeria.
