Ughelli North APC Inaugurates Leadership Council, Pledges Support for Tinubu, Oborevwori in 2027

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, on Friday, inaugurated its Leadership Council with a firm commitment to deliver President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in the 2027 general elections.

The council, inaugurated at Evwreni, has Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, the founding leader of the party in the state, as Chairman; Chief Fred Majemite as First Vice Chairman; Chief Terry Noah, Second Vice Chairman; Chief Festus Agas, Secretary; Chief Raphael Emecho, Assistant Secretary; Mr. George Oyefia, Organizing Secretary; Chief Roland Odeni, Assistant Organizing Secretary; Sir Festus Ahon, Publicity Secretary; with David Edjukonemu and Chief Adjode Prosper serving as Ex-Officios.

Also inaugurated were the Finance and Fundraising Committee, chaired by Stella Okotete with Mr. Kelly Oghenekevwe as Secretary, and the Elders Committee chaired by Prof. Samuel Ibodje.

In his remarks, Emerhor described the council as a focal point for grassroots mobilisation, noting the strong turnout of political leaders and stakeholders at the event.

He said:

“If you are not here, you are not a politician. I have not seen, in this dispensation, a gathering of this caliber of persons. I have been in political battles since 1999, and looking around today, I know we are prepared and ready. We are physically, financially, and spiritually prepared. His Excellency the President and our government can rest assured—there is no fear in Ughelli North.”

Chairman of Ughelli North LGA, Olorogun Jaro Egbo, cautioned against indiscipline, stressing that the party is bigger than any individual.

“If some people think they are bigger than the party, let me be clear: the party is too big to wait for anybody. The president was empathetic, he said, ‘Go and work with these people.’ We are ready to work together,” he said.

Prof. Samuel Ibodje and Morrison Olori also charged party leaders to embrace inclusiveness and ensure that no member is disregarded in the political process.

The inauguration was formally conducted by Hon. Matthew Omonade, member representing Ughelli North Constituency I in the Delta State House of Assembly.
