Mimikay Political Movement Commends Approval of ₦400 Billion Road Project, Calls for More Industrial Development

The Convener of the Mimikay Political Movement, Oghenekaro Akpososo, has commended the Delta State Government led by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for approving road projects valued at over ₦400 billion across Delta State, describing the decision as a bold step toward strengthening infrastructure and improving the quality of life for residents.

In a statement released to the public, Akpososo praised the state government for prioritizing road development, noting that the approval of such a significant investment in infrastructure reflects a clear commitment to the progress and development of the state. According to him, road construction remains one of the most visible and impactful ways government can demonstrate its dedication to improving connectivity and economic growth.

He stated that good road networks are essential for any developing society, as they facilitate the easy movement of people, goods, and services from one community to another. With improved roads, he noted, businesses will operate more efficiently, farmers will be able to transport their produce to markets with ease, and residents will experience better access to schools, healthcare facilities, and other essential services.

Akpososo further commended the governor for his continued focus on infrastructure, emphasizing that investments of this magnitude require leadership, vision, and a strong commitment to development. He said the road projects, when completed, will not only improve transportation across the state but will also stimulate economic activities and open up new opportunities for communities that have long faced challenges due to poor road conditions.

The Mimikay Political Movement Convener noted that infrastructural development such as road construction plays a key role in strengthening economic growth and attracting investment into the state. According to him, investors are more willing to establish businesses in areas where there is reliable infrastructure, particularly good road networks that support transportation and logistics.

While praising the state government for the massive road investment, Akpososo also encouraged the government to place greater emphasis on industrial development, particularly the establishment of factories that can support local production and create employment opportunities for young people.

He explained that while road infrastructure is very important, the long-term economic prosperity of the state will also depend on the availability of industries that can transform raw materials into finished products. According to him, factories will not only create jobs but will also strengthen the local economy by encouraging production, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

Akpososo stressed that the presence of more factories in Delta State will help reduce unemployment, empower youths, and create sustainable economic growth for communities. He added that industrial development will complement the improved road infrastructure, as good roads will make it easier for industries to transport raw materials and distribute finished products within and outside the state.

The Mimikay Political Movement Convener therefore urged the government to continue its developmental efforts by attracting investors and encouraging the establishment of manufacturing industries across the state. He noted that with the right policies and infrastructure in place, Delta State has the potential to become a major hub for industrial production and economic growth in Nigeria.

He reaffirmed that the Mimikay Political Movement remains supportive of policies and initiatives that promote development and improve the living conditions of the people. According to him, the approval of the ₦400 billion road projects is a commendable step that demonstrates the government’s dedication to progress.

Akpososo concluded by expressing optimism that the continued investment in infrastructure, alongside deliberate efforts to promote industrialization through the establishment of factories, will further position Delta State on the path of sustainable development and economic prosperity for all residents.
