The Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications has congratulated the immediate past Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, CON, on his appointment as the South-South Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
In a statement issued on Monday and signed by the Director-General of the Bureau, Dr. (Barr.) Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, JP, the management and staff described the appointment as well-deserved and a recognition of Senator Okowa’s outstanding leadership credentials.
Oghenesivbe noted that the announcement of Okowa’s appointment sparked widespread jubilation across Delta State and the entire South-South geopolitical zone, reflecting the high esteem in which the former governor is held.
He praised Okowa as a pragmatic leader and political stalwart, recalling his eight-year tenure as Governor of Delta State and his role as Chairman of the South-South Governors’ Forum, during which he demonstrated exceptional commitment to governance and regional development.
According to the statement, the Bureau expressed absolute confidence in Okowa’s capacity to deliver on his new assignment, describing him as a “global-ranking political strategist, super bureaucrat, and astute public administrator.”
The Bureau also thanked President Bola Tinubu for the appointment, describing Okowa as “Delta State’s best” and commending the President for his judgment in entrusting the former governor with the strategic position.
Oghenesivbe prayed for continued success for Senator Okowa in his new role, expressing optimism that his leadership will bring positive impact to the South-South region and Nigeria at large.
