DELCOM 2025: Organisers Express Gratitude, Announce Regional Expansion for 2026 Edition



The Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, organisers of the Delta Communications (DELCOM) Summit, has expressed heartfelt appreciation to all participants, facilitators, partners, and government officials for the resounding success of the 6th edition of DELCOM held in Asaba.


In a statement signed by the Director-General of the Bureau and DELCOM State Coordinator, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, Esq, the 2025 edition was described as “a full blast loaded with super modules,” highlighting the growing influence and impact of the annual event.


Dr. Oghenesivbe specially acknowledged the Chief Trainer, Prof. (Mrs) Joyce Ogwezi (Mama DELCOM), Prof. Presley Obukoadata, and Dr. Monday Ashibogwu, ICT and Artificial Intelligence expert and Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), for their invaluable contributions to the success of the summit.


He commended government spokespersons, media aides to the Governor, political leaders, and senior government officials, as well as PROs from MDAs, NIPR and CIISM members, government media partners, journalists, broadcasters, and digital media practitioners from across Delta State and beyond for their active participation.


The statement also appreciated the presence of several senior government officials at the opening and closing ceremonies, including the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, the House Majority Leader, Hon. Emeka Nwaobi, PhD, the Head of Service, Dr. (Mrs) M. Oseji, the Chief Adviser to the Governor, Chief Ighoyota Amori, PhD, and various commissioners and committee members.


Dr. Oghenesivbe extended special gratitude to the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Eze Emu, for his continuous support, and paid tribute to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, JP, for providing the necessary funding and leadership that ensured the success of DELCOM 2025.


Looking ahead, the DELCOM Coordinator announced that the 2026 edition will go regional, expanding to include spokespersons and media aides from across the South-South geopolitical zone.


> “By the grace of God, DELCOM 2026 will go regional to encompass the South-South zone, as Delta will host spokespersons and selected media aides to the Governors of the Niger Delta region,” the statement added.


Dr. Oghenesivbe concluded by giving thanks to God “the project owner,” affirming that all glory for the success of DELCOM 2025 belongs to Him.
