Oborevwori Felicitates Ovie of Agbon Kingdom at 75




Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated the Ovie of Agbon Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Ogurime-rime Ukori I, Michael Omeru, CON, on the occasion of his 75th birthday anniversary celebrated on September 28.

In a statement issued on Sunday in Asaba by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the Governor described the Agbon monarch as “a shining example of royalty anchored on wisdom, humility and service to humanity.”

Oborevwori commended the traditional ruler for his steadfast commitment to peace, unity and development of Agbon Kingdom and Delta State, noting that he has remained “a custodian of culture, a bridge-builder, and a trusted partner in development.”

“Your Majesty, your reign has been a blessing not only to the people of Agbon Kingdom but also to the Urhobo nation and Delta State at large,” the Governor said.

He highlighted the remarkable transformation in infrastructure, security and social harmony recorded in Agbon Kingdom under Ukori I’s leadership, and lauded the monarch’s contributions to youth empowerment, entrepreneurship and value reorientation.

“You remain a source of pride to the Urhobo people and to the entire traditional institution in Nigeria. Your voice on matters of statecraft and governance has always been measured, wise, and invaluable,” Oborevwori added.

On behalf of his family, government and people of Delta State, the Governor prayed for God’s continued grace upon the monarch, wishing him many more years of good health, strength and wisdom to continue leading his people and contributing to the progress of Delta State and Nigeria.
