2025 Oil Producing Areas Youth Summit Holds October 3 in Warri

All is set for the 2025 edition of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Youth Summit, scheduled to take place on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the Unity Hall, Governor’s Office Annex, Edjeba, Warri.

The annual event, organised by the Senior Special Assistant on DESOPADEC, Comrade Owen Nero, will hold under the theme: “Keying the Youths of the Oil Producing Areas of Delta State into the Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda for Sustainable Development.”

This year’s summit is expected to draw key stakeholders, government officials, traditional rulers, civil society groups, and youth organisations from across Delta State’s oil-producing areas.

Discussions will focus on sustainable development, peacebuilding, economic empowerment, and the role of young people in creating a safe and enabling environment for investment.

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is billed to deliver the keynote address, during which he is expected to outline his administration’s policies for expanding youth opportunities and underscore the urgent need for peace in oil-producing communities. He is also expected to stress that sustainable development and investor confidence can only thrive in an atmosphere of security, stability, and cooperation.

The 2025 Delta State Oil Producing Areas Youth Summit is anticipated to be a defining moment for young people in the state, as they partner with government and stakeholders to chart a roadmap for peace, security, and sustainable growth, aimed at making Delta State an attractive hub for investors.
