Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has been described as a divinely ordained leader whose people-focused governance and emphasis on institution-building are laying a solid foundation for a sustainable and transformed Delta State.
The commendation came from the Parish Priest of St. Williams Catholic Church, Orerokpe, Rev. Fr. Peter Awharemuire, during the 70th Thanksgiving Mass of Lady Doris Onoriode Ejinyere, which Governor Oborevwori attended as a special guest.
Delivering a homily drawn from Jeremiah 29:10–14, Rev. Fr. Awharemuire said the Governor’s emergence as the Chief Executive of Delta State was not accidental but part of a divine plan.
According to him, the progress recorded across key sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, security and community development reflected purposeful and guided leadership.
He noted that confidence had been restored across communities, with improved safety and protection of lives, stressing that such achievements were products of focused governance rather than coincidence.
The cleric said the Oborevwori administration stood out for its commitment to sustainability, explaining that beyond physical projects, the Governor was deliberately building enduring systems in governance, security, education and infrastructure.
He added that the ongoing transformation in the state was designed to benefit not only the present generation but also generations yet unborn.
Describing Governor Oborevwori as a leader of uncommon courage, Rev. Fr. Awharemuire said the administration’s achievements had already secured a place in the political history of Delta State.
He further stated that the Church and people of the state were proud of the Governor’s leadership, which he described as being defined by humility, justice, inclusiveness and service, while assuring him of continued prayers for wisdom, peace and divine guidance.
The priest also offered prayers for the celebrant, Lady Doris Ejinyere, whom he described as a just and fair-minded woman.
In his remarks, Governor Oborevwori congratulated Lady Ejinyere on her 70th birthday, describing her as a woman of integrity, strength and unwavering commitment to family and service to the state.
He said he had known her over the years through different phases of life and public service, noting that her firmness was rooted in sincerity and love.
The Governor expressed joy at the unity displayed by the Ejinyere family, describing the celebration as a reflection of strong family values and faith, and prayed for her continued good health, long life, peace and blessings.
Speaking at the service, Lady Ejinyere expressed gratitude to her family, friends and well-wishers for their support over the years.
She paid tribute to Governor Oborevwori, praising his compassion, sacrifices and steadfast support to her family, and described his achievements as evident to all, noting that they were visible and widely acknowledged across the state.
