Adjogbe Applauds Oborevwori’s Infrastructure Drive, Says It Restores Hope to Deltans

Former Executive Director of Projects at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Olorogun Samuel Adjogbe, PhD, FNSE, has commended Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for what he described as audacious and visionary leadership in transforming the state through sustained investment in high-quality road infrastructure.

Adjogbe said the governor’s strategic focus on road construction is restoring hope among Deltans, while laying a solid foundation for economic growth, improved mobility, and enhanced public safety across the state.

Speaking on the administration’s development efforts, the renowned engineer described Governor Oborevwori’s approach as people-centred and forward-looking.

“Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has demonstrated uncommon audacity in restoring hope to Deltans by placing quality infrastructure at the centre of governance. His approach shows a clear understanding that roads are not just about movement, but about economic growth, safety, and long-term development,” he said.

Adjogbe particularly praised the state government’s decision to engage Julius Berger Nigeria Limited, a globally recognised construction firm, to execute key road and flyover projects, noting that the move reflects seriousness, technical competence, and a commitment to durable infrastructure.

“As an engineer who has supervised complex projects at the national level, I can say without hesitation that engaging Julius Berger Nigeria Limited reflects a deliberate commitment to global construction standards and durability. This is how public infrastructure should be delivered,” he stated.

The former NDDC projects chief noted that the ongoing road infrastructure drive, which includes major flyovers and arterial road expansions in strategic urban centres, demonstrates responsible governance and effective utilisation of public funds.

“What stands out in this administration is the prudent use of public funds. Deltans can see that their resources are being channelled into projects that will stand the test of time, not short-term fixes that fail after a few rainy seasons,” Adjogbe added.

He further observed that the administration’s emphasis on quality execution, strict timelines, and the engagement of competent contractors aligns with global best practices in public infrastructure delivery, thereby reassuring citizens of accountability and transparency in governance.

“The renewed focus on road infrastructure under Governor Oborevwori gives meaning to governance. It reassures citizens that their taxes and commonwealth are being invested with vision, competence, and accountability,” he said.

According to Adjogbe, the governor’s insistence on world-class construction firms marks a clear departure from mediocrity and signals a long-term development mindset for Delta State.

“Infrastructure of this quality is not accidental; it is the result of intentional leadership. The governor’s insistence on world-class contractors sends a strong signal that mediocrity has no place in Delta State’s development journey,” he concluded.

Governor Oborevwori’s infrastructure push is a core component of his M.O.R.E. Agenda—Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security—which continues to attract commendation from professionals, community leaders, and development stakeholders across the state.
