Delta State is consolidating its position as a key driver of Nigeria’s food security, with vibrant agricultural communities powering growth across the cassava value chain, from cultivation to processing.
The sector currently sustains thousands of livelihoods across the state, while boosting domestic food supply and opening new export opportunities for cassava-based products, officials said.
Under the MORE Agenda, the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is prioritising rural infrastructure development, improving farmers’ access to quality inputs, and supporting agro-industrial initiatives to scale production and processing.
State authorities noted that these interventions are strengthening productivity, enhancing value addition, and reinforcing Delta’s role as a major contributor to national agricultural output and economic growth.
