IBORI COMMENDS OBOREVWORI’S GOVERNANCE, PRAYS FOR GREATER ACHIEVEMENTS

Former Delta State Governor, Chief James Ibori, has commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for what he described as impressive strides in governance, offering prayers for greater achievements and continued advancement of the state.

Ibori spoke on Thursday when both leaders met at the country home of late businessman, Olorogun Oskar Ibru, in Agbarha-Otor, Ughelli North Local Government Area. Witnesses at the event said Ibori was visibly delighted at Oborevwori’s arrival, a gesture seen by many as reflecting renewed political harmony among leaders from Delta Central Senatorial District.

In a video circulating on social media, Ibori was heard offering prayers for Oborevwori, expressing confidence in his political future and predicting further electoral victories for him beyond his current tenure. He praised the governor’s leadership style, citing infrastructure development, peace, unity and steady progress across different parts of the state.

Reacting to the development, the Director-General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, described Ibori as a father-figure in Delta politics and said his commendation of Oborevwori was a recognition of performance, resilience and humility in leadership.

Oghenesivbe urged political leaders to close ranks behind the governor in the interest of sustained development under the MORE Agenda of the present administration.

He said the growing unity among Delta Central political leaders would strengthen the state’s political stability and accelerate development across Delta Central, Delta North and Delta South.

He further expressed confidence that the political alignment would translate into electoral success for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections, adding that the party was positioning itself for victory across all 25 local government areas of the state.

According to him, Ibori’s public support reflects increasing consensus among stakeholders on the direction of governance in Delta State, as the Oborevwori administration continues its development drive.
