The Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Delta State Governor, Sir Festus Ahon, has been honoured with a Special Recognition Award as a Friend of the Press by Inside-Out Limited, operators of Trend 100.9 FM.
The award, presented during the radio station’s 10th Anniversary Celebration held in Asaba on Sunday, recognizes Sir Ahon’s unwavering commitment to promoting Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E. Agenda and his remarkable support for the state’s development initiatives.
According to the management of Trend 100.9 FM, Ahon’s consistent engagement with the media has been instrumental in shaping public perception and projecting a positive image of the Oborevwori administration.
Receiving the award on behalf of the CPS, Mr. Ivovi Aruoriwo, an Assistant Director of Information in the Directorate of Government House and Protocol, conveyed Ahon’s gratitude to the organizers. He congratulated Trend 100.9 FM for a decade of impactful programming and balanced reporting, which has earned the station a reputation as one of Delta’s most trusted broadcasters.
Sir Ahon, in his remarks, dedicated the award to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, appreciating the Governor for the opportunity to serve in his administration. He also lauded members of the Government House Press Corps for their collaboration and professionalism, which, he said, contributed greatly to the recognition.
Other notable award recipients at the event included the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Ms. Orode Uduaghan; Chairman of Oshimili South Local Government Council, Dr. Kelvin Ezenyili; Director General, Delta State Contributory Health Commission, Dr. Isaac Akpoveta; and veteran broadcaster and Executive Assistant to the Governor on Sports Development, Mr. Harrison Ocholor, among others.
