Ughelli, Delta State – September 5, 2025

Hon. Akpososo Oghenekaro (Mimikay), a prominent political figure and respected leader in Ughelli North Local Government Area, has extended heartfelt felicitations to the Muslim community in Delta State and across Nigeria on the occasion of the 2025 Eid-ul-Mawlid celebration.

This revered Islamic festival, marking the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), is a time for reflection, unity, and renewed commitment to the values of peace, compassion, and selfless service. In a statement released today, Hon. Oghenekaro urged Muslims to embody the Prophet’s teachings to foster harmony and progress in their communities.

In his message, Hon. Oghenekaro emphasized the significance of Eid-ul-Mawlid as an opportunity to reflect on the exemplary life of the Prophet Muhammad, whose teachings of love, tolerance, and humility continue to inspire millions worldwide. “As we celebrate the birth of the Holy Prophet, let us draw inspiration from his life of compassion and dedication to humanity,” he stated.

“His teachings remind us to uphold peace, promote unity, and show kindness to one another, regardless of our differences.”

He highlighted the importance of these values in addressing Nigeria’s challenges, including ethnic tensions and economic difficulties. He called on Muslims and all Nigerians to embrace mutual respect and cooperation to build a stronger, more cohesive society. “In Delta State, our diversity is our strength,” he said. “Let us use this occasion to bridge divides and work together for a prosperous future.”

Hon. Oghenekaro commended the Muslim community in Delta State for their contributions to the state’s peace and development. He noted their role in promoting interfaith harmony through charitable initiatives, educational programs, and community engagement. “The Muslim ummah in Delta has been a pillar of unity and progress, and I am proud to celebrate their steadfast commitment to our shared goals,” he added.

He also praised the Delta State Government, led by Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for fostering an environment of religious tolerance and inclusivity. Hon. Oghenekaro assured residents that he would continue to advocate for policies that promote peace, security, and development in Ughelli North and beyond. “As we mark Eid-ul-Mawlid, let us recommit to creating communities where every individual feels valued and empowered,” he said.

He urged Muslims to celebrate safely and responsibly, adhering to security guidelines to ensure a hitch-free festival. He encouraged acts of charity and kindness, in line with the Prophet’s teachings, to support the less privileged during the celebration.

Hon. Akpososo Oghenekaro concluded his message by wishing all Muslims a joyous and peaceful Eid-ul-Mawlid. “May this festival bring blessings, unity, and renewed hope to your homes and our nation. Eid Mubarak!” he declared, on behalf of his family and constituents.

As Delta State joins the global Muslim community in celebrating Eid-ul-Mawlid, Hon. Oghenekaro’s message serves as a reminder of the enduring power of compassion and unity in building a brighter future for all.
