Akpososo Commends Governor Oborevwori for Transformative Educational Projects in Ophorigbala

Hon. Oghenekaro Akpososo, a prominent leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ughelli North, has praised Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Francis Orowhedor Oborevwori, for his administration’s commitment to educational advancement through the construction and commissioning of a state-of-the-art Science Laboratory and Computer Block at Ophorigbala Mixed Secondary School in Ughelli South Local Government Area.

The landmark project, handed over to the Ministry of Secondary Education on Tuesday, September 10, 2025, underscores the Governor’s dedication to enhancing educational infrastructure and uplifting communities, in line with his “Ukodo Na Tevwe” philosophy.

The new facilities are not only a boost to academic excellence but also carry profound symbolic significance.

According to Akpososo, the project fulfills a long-standing appeal championed for over 12 years by Chief Sir Eric Dubu Onyan Obofukoro, a retired teacher and pensioner of the Delta State Post-Primary Education Board, alongside his wife, Chief Lady Princess (Mrs.) Christiana Ewewu Obofukoro (née Mosheshe).

The initiative honors their decades of service to education and community development, marking a significant milestone for the Ophorigbala community. Akpososo emphasized that the project transcends mere infrastructure, symbolizing recognition of the sacrifices made by educators and elders who have shaped countless lives and futures.

“This development is a testament to Governor Oborevwori’s visionary leadership,” Akpososo stated. “It’s not just about buildings; it’s about honoring our heroes and ensuring that the next generation has the tools to succeed.” The Science Laboratory and Computer Block are expected to revolutionize learning in Ophorigbala by providing students with modern resources to excel in science and technology, critical areas in today’s world.

Further enhancing the project’s impact, Governor Oborevwori incorporated a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) component aimed at supporting the welfare of Ophorigbala’s leaders, women, and youths. Described as “stomach infrastructure,” this initiative is set to roll out in the coming days, addressing immediate community needs and fostering inclusive development. The community has expressed widespread excitement, with residents hailing the Governor’s efforts as a transformative step that will inspire future generations and elevate educational standards in the region.

Akpososo’s commendation reflects the broader sentiment of gratitude within Ophorigbala, as the project not only addresses educational needs but also strengthens community ties. The successful completion of this initiative under Oborevwori’s administration is seen as a beacon of hope, demonstrating the power of purposeful governance in delivering tangible benefits to the people of Delta State.
